Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actressmodeland entrepreneur. She is most well-known for her role as Emily Fields, she is a star of the Freeform TV show Pretty Little Liars. She took acting classes in Toronto after excelling at modeling and dancing. Mitchell was able to land several commercials as well as appeared in guest roles on the TV show prior to landing her debut role in the role of Emily Fields. Her acting skills were praised by critics as well as fans. She then made her mark on the film industry with such films as DreamlandMother's Dayand The the Posession of Hannah Grace. The role she played in the thriller with a psychological theme "You" brought her more recognition. Alongside acting, she has ventured into writing. Along with Michaela Blayne, Mitchell wrote the novel for adults titled Bliss. Shay Mitchell was born on April 10, 1987, and was raised in Ontario, Canada to parents Mark Mitchell and Precious Garcia. Her mother, a Filipina is her mother. And her father is Irish as well as Scottish. Mitchell has also been identified as the cousin to Lea Salonga - a famous musical theatre actress and singer. Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary, before switching to West Vancouver Secondary. As she grew older, Mitchell had worked for several modeling companies across the globe. She travelled to Barcelona Bangkok Hong Kong before eventually returning to her home country and studying acting in Toronto.
